What is the Civic League?

Research, Education, and Community Organization with 60+ years of dedicated service
In our sixty-fifth year of operation, the Civic League of Greater New Brunswick continues its commitment as a not-for-profit civil rights organization. Established in 1945 as an Urban League, the League is the oldest professionally staffed non-profit organization serving the African American and minority communities in Central New Jersey.

The League maintains an emphasis on bridging the educational and technological gaps through educational programs for middle/high school students and promoting the development of equitable community benefits through advocating for balanced benefits in the process of urban revitalization. These goals are accomplished through our programs in Employment Procurement, Youth Development, Summer Programs, and Neighborhood Development.
