Employment Procurement Our Employment programs provide pre-job guidance (career counseling, resume writing assistance, interviewing techniques, employment information, referral), monitoring of corporations' affirmative action policies and assisting minority entrepreneurs with establishment and maintenance of business. The League regularly posts job listing in our office, and we provide access to our community Technology center with Internet connectivity in an effort to bridge the digital divide. Access to the Internet can be useful in obtaining other services such as housing, human resources, and general health information in addition to the making the job search more efficient and effective.

Youth Development
Our Youth Development programs are designed to assist youngsters with after school activities and to advocate for increased educational services to the families of the youth. Several district-wide projects are included under our youth development program: Intercede Scholars, 7th Grade/8th Grade Leadership and Middle School Extended Day programs.

Neighborhood Development Our Neighborhood Development program is focused on the Georges Road Corridor and environs located in New Brunswick near the border of North Brunswick. The commercial and residential corridor has been experiencing increased attention through the development of Fulton Square, and the League has been active in measuring impacts on the existing community and engaging with leaders to promote balanced development. A community needs assessment has been conducted in the past and the League continues to collaborate between residents, corporations, human service agencies, churches, community organizations, and schools in providing community involvement in planning for neighborhood changes.

Summer Institutes
Our Summer Youth and Career Exploration programs provide a six-week employment and education experience for youth 14 years of age and older. The Whitney M. Young, Jr. and Rosa L. Parks Summer Institutes are classroom activities designed to support academic pursuit of the younger teenager in cooperation with the Rutgers University's Upward Bound Program. Older program participants are placed on job sites at the RWJ-UMDNJ Medical School in New Brunswick.
